Resizing a T-shirt

Make a huge T-shirt..into one that fits.
.........

This t-shirt was an XL

Okay, first thing to do is to find a t-shirt that fits (Fit T), this is going to help you size the Big T correctly without having to measure anything. Lay Big T down flat with the Fit T on top, lining up the collars and shoulder seams to make sure the print won't be cut off during re-sizing.
.

(mind the pit stains plz..i work very hard)

Cut off Big T sleeves, cut close to seam.

Turn Big T inside out. Cut sides.

Lay Fit T on Big T and with your pins, mark on the Big T where the Fit T ends under the Fit T armpit.

(If you want the same length as the Fit T mark with pins where it ends. You will need to hem this later.)
Pin the armholes according to the Fit T. Cut off excess fabric.

Lay this aside. Next to do is to fit the Big T sleeve to the Fit T.
Turn Big T sleeves inside out, cut at seam.

Lay Fit T sleeve on Big T just like the picture.

You will pin where the Fit T sleeve ends on the Big T. These Big T sleeves will be longer than the Fit T, if you want the same size sleeve line up the end of the armhole like this picture.. You will need to cut off excess fabric.

Now that everything is pinned, it's time to sew. First we'll sew the body of the Big T. DO NOT SEW THE ARMHOLE! Start the seam underneath the armpit. Sew straight to the pins, and remove them. Repeat for other side.

Next is to sew the sleeve. (Don't sew where your arm will fit through.)
Repeat for other sleeve. Cut off excess fabric.

Try on the body of the T shirt before cutting off excess so you know it fits. If it does, cut off the extra fabric.

To insert sleeve into shirt.. turn sleeve right side out, keep body inside out. Insert sleeve into body just like the picture. Make sure the bottom seam is in line with the side seam of body. RIGHT SIDES TOGETHER

Example

Sew the sleeve to the body. Sew right to the edge. Hold hand in place to make sure the shirt doesn't bunch. Repeat for other sleeve.

.

Cut off threads and extra fabric. Turn right side out and try it on. Hopefully it fits!
